With a background that includes working in many different areas of the entertainment industry, Alan is as at home making music videos as he is working on a documentary. His passion for theatre and live performance is always evident in the types of projects he directs.

Alan is currently directing a documentary about the creation of the children's television show, The Magic Tent.

EROICA!
How does one get behind an epic piece of music - to see how it is constructed, painstakingly? This film charts the relationship between talented Bostonian composer Kevin Kaska who is attempting to write a triple concerto, with only Beethoven as a successful predecessor and the internationally acclaimed Eroica Trio who travel around the world performing to sell out audiences. Alan directed and co-produced this film which was shown on PBS, SBS (Australia) and Europe.

Team Continuum -
The Dream Maker
Team Continuum is a non profit organisation that raises money for people with cancer to provide all sorts of help. They especially do great work with kids and celebrities. They wanted something that conveyed their message as well as from the heart, poignant and with an upbeat message.

GAP21
Alan helped organise the event at Oxford University in addition to shooting the promo. At the time, the use of multimedia graphics was somewhat groundbreaking and reflected the aspiration of the organisation: intelligent, challenging and ambitious.

Global Cool
Alan was brought in as the New York director to shoot a segment of the overall trailer for Global Cool: The Movie, starring Sienna Miller, Tony Blair, Heather Graham and Amitabh Bachchan, that subsequently went out world wide.

Bond - Ibiza
Alan worked with Bond to create a fast and fun video that captures the talents and humour of the world famous group as well as presenting Classic FM TV in Ibiza at the famous Cafe Mambo sunset terrace.
This was a first for all involved and proved to be a big winner.

Myleene Klaas - The Piano
Alan set up a live event for Mylene in Ibiza with Classic FM TV and in an extremely condensed time frame created a lush video that reflected aesthetically the beauty and talent of Mylene as well as the enchanted nature of Ibiza.

Kiara Hunter : Believe
Alan worked with choreographer Lynne Page (associate choreographer Billy Elliot, Phantom of the Opera) in Vancouver to create an urban dance infused vibe, that led to the artist going on a European tour.

Sara Sant'Ambrogio - Summertime
Shot on 16 mm to create a simple yet alluring image of Gershwin's oh-so-sexy piece with a Manhattan backdrop, performed impeccably by the cellist Sara Sant'Ambrogio.
This has played extensively throughout Europe.

The Euthanasist
The Euthanasist is a one-person play that examines the nature of care giving, devotion and losing one's self in a self-imposed torture of the day to day. Through story and imagery, the landscape of one woman's rationale is revealed as she questions her relationship to living and others' desire to die. The Euthanasist will be a world premiere by internationally produced and award-winning playwright Liza Lentini and directed by Alan Miller. Certain to stir and provoke, The Euthanasist will leave the audience talking well after the show has ended.

Justified Sinners
This one-hander was nominated for a 'Fringe First' at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and played at The Gilded Ballroom II.

Measure for Measure
One of Shakespeare's 'problem plays' this resonating tale of earthly rewards and punishments.

Circ de Celine
Alan directed this comedienne and performances made at The Groucho Club, Cultural Virus and she went on to appear across London.
